Six Months

Dear Reese,

Happy Half Year, sweet baby! I can't believe half a year has gone by since you entered this world. You have grown so much and my love for you grows every day. You have the most precious personality and it is really starting to blossom. You love to talk (can't imagine where you get that from!) and as soon as your eyes pop open in the morning you're off and running with your babbling. You are stringing together a lot of syllables and have started with the repetitive things like da-da-da-da, ma-ma-ma-ma, ya-ya-ya-ya, but can still put different syllables together, too. Won't be long before I'm having a conversation with you! You love to smile and boy do you smile all the time!! Such a happy baby! Mommy singing the Friends theme-song still really cracks you up, but you just like hearing Mommy sing to you, period. When you are upset or fussing, if I sing Hush Little Baby, you calm right down.

Reese you are so interactive now and love playing with your toys. You absolutely love the jumper and kind of like the excersaucer, but you get a little frustrated because it doesn't make noise when you bounce like the jumper does. You have gotten to be a great sitter. You will sit for several minutes before you topple over. You also can reach for things in front of you while you are sitting. Your pediatrician was very impressed with how well you can sit! He was amazed that you don't even wobble. You have always been a strong boy, Reese! You weighed 17.2lbs at your 6-month well-baby check up and were 25.25 inches long. You have gained a good amount of weight and moved from 15% to 40%. You are eating rice cereal twice a day now, but we'll start you on baby food soon. You are in size 2 diapers, but are about to outgrow those. Most of your clothes are 6-9 month size, but there are a few bigger 3 month size clothes that you can still squeeze into. You are getting better with your daytime sleeping and are back to your good nightime sleeping habits. One of the most wonderful things you have learned to do is find your paci at night and put it back in your mouth. That makes Mommy's nights a lot better. You are such a smart little boy!! You just continue to be such a sweet, easygoing baby and brighten up Mommy and Daddy's lives so much. We love you!

love,

Mommy and Daddy

P.S. Mommy is sorry this is a few days late, but we moved to a new house and have been very, very busy getting settled!
